23rd May 2005 Hot off the press is news of the new CD single Blue Shoes, out on 30th May. As before, we are talking Hypertension Records, and the catalogue no. is HYP 5434. If you're into barcodes you could quote 4011586543429, but some would say that makes you a sad individual! The 3-track CD features Blue Shoes (Radio Edit), plus "unplugged and live" versions of I Won´t Let You Down and I Should Have Known Better recorded in March 2005 (Germany). Jim is supported by many of the usual suspects, i.e. Paul Birchall (Grand Piano), Paul Burgess (Percussion), Dominic Finlay (Bass) and Gareth Moulton (Guitars). The promotions people at Hypertension would like me to suggest that phone calls to your local radio stations, or perhaps emailing the Beeb via their website at www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 to try and get some airtime. I said "No, I won't do that!", because after all, it might unfairly boost the air time. Hmmmmmm. 3rd March 2005 There is a new online retailer selling Jim's CDs, and keen to promote them. The prices look keen to me as well! They are Townsend Records, and you can find Jim's area on their site if you click here. 15th Feb 2005 Well we've had some feedback about distribution problems of the CD - we've looked into it and yes, it's been a bit patchy, apparently. Just what we didn't need! BUT, it's been looked into and things are starting to move, so please bear with us on this. If your local store can't seem to find it, tell 'em the distributor is Proper. Now they should know what to do when they hear that. [Failing that, I did a quick websearch and they have their own website at http://www.propermusic.com, and the record can be found by searching and under the 'New Releases' link - WebMaster]. Also, Jim says that the single's release date has been put back to 21st February - again distribution issues. Isn't the music business complicated? 7th Feb 2005 At last, "Souled and Healed" by Jim Diamond has been released! Out on Hypertension Records, should be available in a store near you. The single "When you Turn" features a Snake Davis sax solo. As you know, Jim and Snake are often to be found out and about gigging together (don't forget to check regularly on the Gig guide. Where can you get it? Click here |
